I can't seem to find anything on this searching in the forum.
I get a message box (see attached). Why? and what do I have to do to fix this?

I've got the same question here.
Have you found any solutions?
Thanks!
Designaction,
I haven't gotten an answer. With no disrespect to anyone, it has been more than 60 days since I first posted without an answer or a moderator jumping in. Some help would be appreciated if someone can help.

At a first glance your screenshot looks like you enabled 'Debug' in your PayPal configuration, which therefore displays debug information.
Thank you jjk.
I checked under Configuration /Shop /Advanced Settings and it was and is set to "No debug." Is there some other place that I should be checking?

Thank you jjk.
I checked under Configuration /Shop /Advanced Settings...
Which versions of Joomla and VirtueMart and which PayPal plugin do you use?
Thanks jjk,
Since January posting, I updated to Joomla! Version 2.5.17
VirtueMart version is 2.0.26d
Plug-in: Paypal (Description - PLG_VMPAYMENT_PAYPALDESC)

I still wonder what you mean with the path 'Configuration /Shop /Advanced Settings...' where you looked whether or not 'Debug' is enabled.
In VM 20.26d the path to look up the PayPal settings in the VM administration menu is 'Shop > Payment Methods > PayPal > Configuration tab > Debug (at the bottom of the form).
There is a debug option under Configuration > Shop. Advanced Settings is at the bottom of the page.
I looked where you suggested and debug was turned on. This is curious, since I never visited that page to turn it on. I wonder if it somehow was turned on during the upgrade process. Who knows.
Your direction to turn off debug on the Shop > Payment Methods > PayPal > Configuration tab, did the trick.
Thank you for your quick response and help!

Sorry, that one didn't come into my mind because it is unrelated to your screenshot, but since you mentioned that path, it should have rung the bell in my brain. ;)
