Upgraded to 2.0.26d and now when I try to update the status of an order the page will redirect to the Administration page for Joomla.
The order status remains unchanged in Virtuemart.
You cannot delete any orders either.

Finally had to restore site from a backup file before 2.0.26d.
Went back to VM 2.0.26a and Joomla 2.5.17 then updated one thing at a time starting with Joomla 2.5.20. Then VM 2.6.1, then my template.
I checked for the issue after each install, none of them produced the problem. As of now the site is fully functional.
I do not know what was causing the issue but I also started getting multiple instances of orders with 2 different customers names, but order #s and products ordered would be the same .
Also extra products would show up on an order, as ordered and would not be paid for.
This seems like a hack to me, so it was probably better to refresh site to a known good backup before VM2.0.26d anyway and update from there.
I use Akeeba Backup, they are awsome. Updating every couple of days to a week. It has paid off.

Problem of "Order Status Not Updating" continued to plague my site. Finally found a simple solution!!!!!

Change the list view of your orders to 100 or less in the configuration of the shop. configuration -> Templates tab -> "Backend default items per list view".. change to 100 or less.
