Title: Joomla 3.x and Virtuemart - exist Workarounds?
Post by: Toskan on December 27, 2013, 20:50:50 PM
Hi

I am starting a project with a shopping section now. This will not finish before 2 months.

Okay I read you would only support joomla 3.5

but:

obviously I don't want to start using joomla 2.5 now. Is there a workaround to get virtuemart work with joomla 3.x

Or is there a very strong reason to not do so? (wont work, will be very buggy, i will go to hell?)

thanks

Since there were several changes introduced from 3.1 tp 3.2 which screwed some templates and components there is likely to be similar problems with updating to 3.5.

Far simpler to use J2.5 which is stable and supported until the end of next year and update once 3.5's bugs have been squashed. It won't be a difficult migration to the next version. IN the meantime why not help with development of the J3.5 compatible version? http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=119177.0
