I'm using joomla 2.5.11 and virtuemart 2.0.20
After creating the custom field with "Generic child variant" and "cart attribute: yes", in the product where I wanna add child product I check "view children as an option" and "can order parent product" and save it. Then I click on "add child product" and add a new child product with different name, price etc. but nothing showing on the frontend in the father product page.
I tried to follow these thread https://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=113993.0 and http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=102323.msg382135#msg382135 but I didn't understand how and if they solved it.
Can someone help me please?

Your Joomla and VirtueMart versions are old and insecure. Your problem may already have been solved, maybe test an update on a backup copy of your site.
