Title: CSV Improved - CSVI VirtueMart
Post by: babu65 on December 22, 2013, 09:49:07 AM
Hello to all,
I'm a newbie of VM and it is my first post so pleased to be part of the community  :)
I am in the following situation: I have an old website,  not developed by me, in Joomla 1.5.10 with VM 1.1.3 so I have to import categories, products with their images and prices on a new Joomla 2.5.17 and VM 2.0.26.
I proceeded to download CSVI 5.15 documentation including, at this point I have a stupid doubt. For export categories, products, etc.. from Joomla 1.5.10 I can use CSVI 5.15 or it is compatible with Joomla 2.5 so I can use it only for the import and for the export I must  use CSVI 1.9.2?

Thanks in advance to those who want to dispel my doubt :)

Questions about CSVI should be posted on http://www.csvimproved.com/forum/

VirtueMart 2.0.26 contains a migration facility to move from VM1.1 to VM2. Have a look through the following:

If you find these difficult to follow then have a look at http://extensions.virtuemart.net/import-export/virtuemart-migrator-detail

Thanks jenkinhill for your prompt reply,
I apologize for the misplaced question  :-[

I did not know of this possibility, I guess through the links you mentioned as well as the migration from old to new versions of Joomla and VM, is possible export and import into a new and completely different site, the categories and the products of the VM.

Have a nice day :)
