Hi I have an urgent problem.
Since a few hours customers can not purchase in our shop any more. It is not possible to get beyond "confirmed order" and the problem occurs with all payment possibilities.
In VM backend I only receive this info under order status: COM_VIRTUEMART_UNKNOWN_ORDER_STATUS
There is however not further info like customer its adress etc. Only more is the product in cart and the value.
How can I solve this. I did not add any status nor did I do anything to the shop today. In the morning orders were going fine.
Please help!!

Is it possible your site has been hacked? Your Joomla and VirtueMart versions are old and known to be insecure? http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=118683.0
Also check if the host made some server update.
I am not sure. I am a bit nervous now. It is completely down now and after a while I get the message 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable
How can I check what could I do. My stupid host is not available anymore today so I could not really contact him to see if something is going on.

I can easily login to the server using filezilla.
First step is to check error and access logs on the server for anything strange.
Hi,
I can not see anything strange in the logfiles. I just received an 8mb error file just with logs that files could not be found.
From this morning the website is working again and customers did also order again.
In the night we received another error. It was not possible to connect to the database and when I looked into the backend of my administrator I received the error the database would have errors.
This morning everything works fine without me doing anything.
Even though I guess I should update in near future and also check before if no hack was made. Is there any instruction how to check a VM2 system. For Joomla I have found a way on their page.

There are some components that can check for changed filesanywhere in a site. Most important is to keep up to date with Joomla and all module/plugin/component updates.
Souds like you were having server problems. Maybe move to a more reliable host...
Hi and thank you,
I received confirmation from my host there was an issue with the server the database is on.
Basically I understand that a server can brake down or other issues. However I think should not take them 12 hours to answer.
I will need to discuss that with them.
Thank you anyway for your help. Such a situation makes you think even more about saving your data reguraly.

The longest I have had to wait for a reply from my host after submitting a ticket was 10 minutes, usually less than a 5 minute wait. That's why I have been with this company for over 8 years and at peak I had 200 separate sites with them. unitedhosting.co.uk
