I am trying to make gift selection in cart page. If a client will reach order total 60 eur I would like 3 free gifts to show, with option to select one that will be added to cart.
I found this : http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=30385.0 old post, but it is for older VM and it doesnt work in VM2. Maybe someone can help me make sense of it, with a little tweaking to make it work in VM2?
Versions: VM latest 2.0.22c, Joomla 2.5

Gifts? The regular advice is to check awocoupon project.
I got Awo, but thats not what I need in this case. Awo works in coupon logic (you have to add coupon ...) and what I need is manual selection of gift in chekout (with appropriate product picture)
I was just thinking that maybe I could do that with Awo (buy X gety), but I would need to add something like if order total - get free.php. I am able to make this free.php my self, since there would be just images and appropriate codes next to it, but I dont know how to call it into chekout when order total reaches 60 euro.
This Awo option is not a perfect one, but it is better than none :)

Ok so I had many other urgent things to do in the mean while, so this problem with freebies is still unsolved. Awo coupons is not the solution I am looking for, so it looks that custom code is only option.

I tryed to integrate it, but it doesnt work. Did anyone found something better in the mean time, or. if any of you know how could I adjust this code from link to VM 2.0.22 ?

It's very similar to something my company did for VM 1.1 called Purchasing Rules, but it works in VM2. It uses rules definition to determine when someone is eligible for discounts and free items.
