Title: Error Model class virtuemartModelCategory not found in file
Post by: kona333 on September 17, 2013, 03:38:35 AM
This appears at the top of category pages -
Error: Model class virtuemartModelCategory not found in file

It's not related to the template as I've tried different templates/themes and they all have the error.
I've also got this error on more than one website.

VM 2.0.22, however this issue goes as far back as 2.0.10. So it's been around for a while.
Joomla 2.5.11 and earlier.

This seems to have been asked a number of times on this forum but all have no replies. I even just tried disabling error messages but haven't been able to do that.

Solutions??? Thanks.

So on VM2.0.22d, Joomla 2.5.14 and default joomla template you have this issue?

What 3rd party extensions do you have then? Your PHP version? Did you check on different hosting services?

Well I seem to have solved it. It was related to a plugin. Not sure which one though - I turned them all off, error went away, then one-by-one turned them all back on (except the ones I knew weren't being used) and the error didn't return. Must have been one of the plugins I left off that was causing it.

Definitely wasn't the template or any modules. and I've had it on two completely separate hosting providers, specs as follows:

Joomla 2.5.14
VM 2.0.22c
PHP version    5.3.27

Joomla 2.5.11
VM 2.0.22a
PHP version    5.3.20

So if anyone else gets this error, check your plugins!

Bold sentence describes very well one of the typical and epic moments in the life of the Joomla administrator.
