VirtueMart 2.0.22a and Joomla 2.5.14
There is a wide range of products with no set patten of sizes and colors. A product may have only one size available in one color, or two sizes each with a different color. I would like to show a cart attribute list where I can specify the available sizes with specific color unique to each product The challenge is that there is an infinite number of colors which change by manufacture and season.
Ideally I would like to add sizes and appropriate colors as a cart attribute text line on the Product Information or Custom Fields page and have it appear as part of the add to cart process. I am not concerned with inventory tracking...

Thank you. Looks great for most applications - but not mine.
Ideally the values would be entered on the individual product's page. Often a color is for a single item and one time use. It is not practical to have an extensive list of custom fields just for one size/one color. In addition the size and color will need to be paired.
Examples:
s - Burgundy
m - Green
m - Hunter Green
xl - Candy Apple Red
When the "Candy Apple Red" is sold, it would be manually removed from the product page and most likely never used again. We are selling what is actually on the shelf and NOT ordering from the limitless manufacture's stock - and odd sit up for sure.
I think that you should use the stockable variants custom field
I found the correct terminology for what I need to do:
In VM2 create Attribute List under Product Status just as it was done in VM1.
A year old post (by padzhp) spoke of a custom plug-in. Is this plug-in or something similar available?

Nice. But remember, we could support you only if you try VM2. Still I can't see what do you want to have. Maybe some basic schema of your productdetails page?
