If, after upgrading to VirtueMart 2.0.22c, your registration page looks quite messy, like image below

edit this file :
your_site_folder/components/com_virtuemart/views/user/tmpl/edit_adress_userfields.php

and change in section // Output: Userfields (around line 27) the last       
$openTable = false;
in
$openTable = true;
