Title: Dynamic Product Quantity?
Post by: controlledfate on September 04, 2013, 21:04:11 PM
Joomla Version: 2.5.11
VirtueMart: 2.0.20b

I am building a store that sells t-shirts. How do I setup the products so that I can setup separate quantities based on size? For example, (3) large shirts, (2) medium shirts, (5) small shirts. Is there an option to show out of stock for just a single size? Current I have the sizes setup as a "Cart Variant" in the custom field list.

Also, people can purchase the same shirts from a brick and mortar store-front, so it's important that the inventory levels are the same. Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance!

Did you try quantity control provided in Product Edit page?

Are you referring to the "Product Status" tab when you click on "Products"? If so, I only see the ability to enter an "In Stock" number of products and control the ordered products and low stock notifications etc. How would I set a stock per size for a shirt?

Use child products or the stockable variants plugin to manage stock for the children or variants.

Having different orderable quantities and controlling stock is a bit different things, you know, Controlledfate.
