Hi
I know very little about this system and am trying to get an understanding of the importance of certain sections of the categories fields, so I apologise if this is a very basic question for some of you.
I am wondering what the "Ordering" Field in the Details Section of the Categories section is actually for, what is its job, what does it control, and what happens if the information in that field is incorrect compared to the details that it shpuld contain. How does this affect the website, its visibility on google, the spiders that google sends to map sites etc etc.
Any help gratefully received... please in english though as I am just learning this system.
thanks
You're talking about order in which categories are placed.

Expertise of current forum is a bit different. But you could dig our SEO forum section still.
The order in which categories are displayed on the frontend make very little difference, if any, to SE ranking.
Hi thanks for responding.
My site is sports based... not sure how it happened but things got a little mixed up on the categories sections...
All the rest of the info is correct but I have small issues like a category for a teams socks has ordering for jerseys and a team that is for example liverpool, has the Category ordering of Spurs....
Any ideas why it would happen, why it will let me select and then save the information I want and then just refer back once I look again to the old incorrect information?
What would the consequences if I removed the category and then tried to recreate it if I already have products that are associated and linked to it?
