I would not display all the sop in English language
I would hide some categories and some products just in English
Any help please?

Amorino
Hi
You can use the custom filters module to hide specific categories.
http://breakdesigns.net/extensions/custom-filters
You can create 2 intances of the module for the 2 languages using different settings.
Yhank you
I made so many css changes to the original module so I would make thes fonction with it
And it doesn't hide single product in a language
Best regards
Amorino
In our case if we don't translate a product or category it simply does not appear in that concrete language.
Sorry for bumping an old thread..

Why has this behaviour been changed?
Is there now no way to avoid displaying all products and categories in all languages?
Would be sweet with the publish check working individually for each language.

Why has this behaviour been changed? I'm using Joomla 3.5.1 and VM 3.0.16

If you need to remove product languages so it's not displayed, you can use my tool : http://shop.st42.fr/en/products/vm-be-pro-batch-product-edit.htm
I got one language active and 3 more languages in the making so I dunno what good unchecking the "Use english as fallback for untranslated strings" would do.
I need to hide/deactivate categories and products in three of the languages as there is stuff I don't want to sell outside Denmark.
It seems VM now uses danish text for all untranslated categories and products, whereas it would have been much nicer if these fields were just left empty and invisible until taken into use.
Will look into your VM BE PRO batch processing.
Quote"Use english as fallback for untranslated strings"
that is the idea.. no idea if it works on a site with no English .. but as designed it was
all products in Eng
then choose if u want to show untranslated in English ( a fall back option) or not show them at all

This is already used by some customer, buying it, for your case, but i cannot confirm that this work in all new VM releases, because on each new release some default behavior change in VM.
But you can remove any translation(or add , copy it from another language) in a quick time without having to go in mysql.
