I'm working on a Joomla version 2.5.11 Website with a VirtueMart version 2.0.18a component. Recently a customer with an address in Anderlecht, Belgium (ISO 3166 country code: BE) placed at order. The Website is based in California, USA. California sales tax was added to the order in error.
In the VirtueMart Control Panel > Products > Tax & Calculation Rules, I have a published California State Sales Tax listed. It is configured for Country: United States and State/Province/Region: California. No other countries or states are listed. No other tax rules have been created.
Why is the California sales tax added to an order from Belgium?
Nobody has reported anything like that before. VM2.0.18a did contain some bugs that were fixed for 2.0.18c - and there were some changes to tax. http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=113052.0
I upgraded to VirtueMart version 2.0.20b. That fixed the California State sales tax problem. I still have a bug in the shipping module and have contacted the developer about that error.
It seems that 2.0.22 breaks this again. I have a customer from Japan that needs to pay Dutch taxes. The taxes are only necessary to pay for customers in the EU. In my tax rule I have added all EU countries that this tax rule applies to. But it does not work. Nor with 2.0.22 nor with 2.0.22a!
Has anybody a (quick) solution?
