Hi I'm trying to more than 500 products to almost 300 categories and would like to use the bulk associate categories function as this will save me countless hours of work. The problem is that when I use this to associate categories to products, if there were any existing categories already associated to the products, those are overwritten and I'm left with only the categories from the bulk associate. Is there a way to take the overwriting away, or any other work around anyone could suggest? I appreciate any suggestions.

This is an old post, but still a very important question that appears to be unaddressed. I figured it would be better to use this existing thread, since my question is exactly the same and it would be better to have only one post where users can find the answer as opposed to two.
Is there something that can be adjusted (a setting or something) or a code mod that will allow "bulk associate" categories to be appended as opposed to overwriting existing categories?
