I'm using thisplugin, but I found two issues that may have simple solution:
1) Download link in email: only works for logged Joomla users. If the client does not log into Joomla, opting to only register as a buyer in VM, then confirmation message do not include download link.
2) There is a way to have something link a Download Area, or maybe include download link in order view on site?

To first, interesting effect, but there is a link to access the order as anonymous and there you can download it then. I did not validate this "bug", but I will consider it.
to the second, the download area is the order view, just see as we did it for extensions.virtuemart.net

I'm using Joomla 2.5.9, VM 2.0.20b and Shipment for Virtual Products 2.0.8 (I forgot to mention this in the post).
When access orders, is not shown the link to download. This occurs even for logged in users in joomla and also for those who just signed up as buyers.
Is there any setting in the VM I did so wrong?

I can't help you with the istraxx plugin, but I should mention that I wrote my "Downloads for Sale" plugin (http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension-specific/virtuemart-extensions/virtuemart-shipping/23503) to solve mainly your second issue (the missing download area that lists all available downloads for the logged-in user, or for the order as given by the order number/password).
To see the download area, see e.g. http://demo.kainhofer.com/ then "Your Downloads" for the download area and log in as user demo (pw demo).
My plugin will also show the download link with the product if you are logged in, and the links in the invoice and order confirmations contain the order password, so the user does not need to be logged in.
