Title: Lost Order Message

J.2.5.x, VM 2.0.14
There was a customer who made an order and VM (or payment gateway) responded with a message on the screen stating something to the fact that the order may have been lost.

Trying to find out the cause of the problem.

The customer was charged (a refund had to be issued), but never received notification of a successful order.

Is this moreso the connection between the payment gateway and VM and the gateway is responding with this message? Or is this VM?

I dont care about how order number looklikes. But try write letters as varibale symbol in a bank transfer.
