After migration, all my child products have a $0 price. Is there a fix for the migration tool that will migrate child item prices?

So it turns out that the child prices DID migrate. The issue is that when I added the custom field 'generic child variant' to the parent, it destroys all the child prices! Why on earth would it do that?
