Title: Moving a site.
Post by: WebMercher on February 27, 2013, 23:52:09 PM
I plan to use CSVI to move a joomla/vm site from a subdirectory to the main root directory.

1) After all the date is imported with CSVI, other than the config file, where else should I be looking to make changes?

2) Are there any SEO database entries i need to clean up first, etc... anything that will make the site forget the old directory?

Thanks a bunch

You can simply drag the site from subdirectory to root with ftp (as mentioned in http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=86923.0 ). Or use Akeeba. Clear caches etc. if SEF has been used (IMO it should never be turned on for a development site). As long as no urls are hardcoded then everything should work OK.
