Hello everyone,
I have looked through the forum and the manual and it's possible I haven't yet found this but my question is:
When I have a product and I'm listing the width, height, etc. and say I enter 13.5 for the width - on the frontend product page it shows as just 13 inches.
Is there a way to fix this so it shows my actual dimensions?
Thank you.
Not shure where you enter your dimensions. I've set up customs fields for height and width and selected 'Integer' as the custom field type. It does show entered decimal values correctly in my shop.
I enter the dimensions when setting up a new Product. There are several tabs for Product Description, Product Information, etc. One of the tabs is for Product Dimensions and Weight. I didn't have to set up anything custom, it was just there.
I wonder what the difference is between the default I am using versus a custom field you set up? I would think the two should be the same?
OK, so I set up a custom field for width, height, weight and it shows the exact dimensions as I enter them. I still wonder what the difference is between the default option to enter this information and a custom field?
I did notice the custom field is showing up after the description, is there a way to change this so it shows at the top of the page next to the product image?

The weight and dimension values in the product edit tab normally are used for shipping cost calculations only.

You would have to adjust the template for this. I think in this case you would have to make an override of ...\components\com_virtuemart\views\productdetails\tmpl
