If someone puts something in their shopping cart, then hits continue shopping and decides they don't want to buy something else, is there a return to shopping cart button I can put on the product pages in addition to the add to cart button? Also If you go to my shop, and click on a category, is there a button I can add on the individual category pages to return back to the main shop page? Thank you to anyone that can help me.

For the cart, most people follow convention & publish the VM - Shopping cart module so it is always on the page.
Otherwise you can do this through a Joomla menu, with a link to the cart. You should also have a Joomla menu link to the store homepage, although you could also use a template override to add a link back to store home on each category page.
