Title: Confirm purchase error - new install
Post by: wanrouter on December 25, 2012, 23:27:31 PM
Hello, I purchased this virtuemart template by TemplateMonster: http://eshop.stavivasp.sk
But there is a error in last step (confirmation as quest, admin or registered user)

They support sent me here, because that error is probably caused by setting of my server, because template is working well in TM demo page. It is clean install of template, no changes were made.

The error is:

        vmError: _createOrderCalcRules store product rule
        vmError: Couldn't create order items
        No order created

Joomla: 2.5.7, VM: 2.0.12f, PHP 5.3.14

Hello,

Did you try without template overrides? Did you try a clean installation of joomla 2.5/vm2.0.16 and then install your template? A lot users have bad experience with those templates...

Also please read this: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=108212.0

We have also found that many "VirtueMart" templates being sold by TM are based on VM2.0.6 or earlier, and do not work with later versions. as the overrides are out of date and need reworking.
Title: Same issue

I'm having the exact same error (bought a template for Template monster too). Are you saying that we wont be able to get support for this issue in this forum?
Is this a problem with the template or are these errors that can be addressed with virturmart?

You can correct the issues caused by out of date template & css overrides if you have a little php/html/css knowledge. Problem is these templates tend to be used by people who do not know any code and want a quick way to set up a site.

Unfortunately we have seen issues like this:  http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=110061.msg368818#msg368818

If you intend to buy a prebuilt template first check that it is suitable for the latest version of Joomla/VirtueMart and that they will provide updates for purchasers.

We cannot provide support for commercial templates for several reasons, but consider that we cannot know how they have added their overrides or what version they were built for unless we also buy that template.
