I've a problem with an installation of 2.0.14, which is an upgrade from a 1.1 release.
When a new order is placed the shop owner won't get a mail notification. If I open the order detail, the status history says "Customer notified?": No on the first line, which reflects realty.
But I didn't understand where to change this behavior, I found not option about that!
I made several other install/migrations and always had working notifications.
What's wrong with this one?

forgot to add that email notification usually work fine in other places, like if I manually change the order status and check the notification option the mail is correctly sent.

Do you use any third party payment plugin? There is a possibility to override the the mail function and does not send the notification, if yes please give a try with a standard payment plugin for testing.
