Dear VirtueMart community,

Puma-IT is pleased to release the Realex payments (http://www.realexpayments.com) plugin for VirtueMart 2 & Joomla 2.5.x !

Realex Payments is a leading European online payment gateway, headquartered in Dublin with offices in London and Paris. Established in 2000, they provide a complete online payment solution to over 12,000 clients including Virgin Atlantic, VHI Healthcare, Party stupid card game, Daft.ie, Aer Lingus, AA Insurance.

This plugin uses the re-direct method: a hosted application which allows you to redirect customers from your website to a secure payment environment, where the customer can enter his/her card details to complete the payment.

Once the transaction has been processed, Realex will return the response of the transaction to a dedicated response page on your server, so that VirtueMart can automatically update the order with the details of the transaction.

This plugin has been successfully tested with Joomla 2.5.7+ and VirtueMart 2.0.10+ (up to Joomla 2.5.8 and VirtueMart 2.0.14)
And it is already running on live environments!

Suggested Settings for Realex
These settings are done with Realex support service, not Puma-IT services. These are only suggestions that work on some live environments. Your environment might requires different ones.
Recommendations
For the last testing on a live website, you can use a specific VM shopper group to hide it from actual customers.

I forget before to mention that it is successfully working on Joomla 2.5.8 and VirtueMart 2.0.14 !!

There are four successful websites with the plugin, so the beta period is really over now!

Not happy enough about our first listing on the JED (http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension-specific/virtuemart-extensions/virtuemart-payment-systems/24470) (Joomla! Extensions Directory), we have upgraded our website to include a customer support portal (http://www.puma-it.ie/en/joomla-virtuemart-extensions/support).

And more important for our customers, we revised our price plans, to introduce our new Extra Services and our new plugin for Authipay (AIB Merchant Services). From now on, every new plugin Subscription for One year of downloads and support for Realex (support only for one website) is charged € 39 + VAT (http://www.puma-it.ie/en/joomla-and-virtuemart-extensions/realex-payments-for-virtuemart-2).
