On many of my products I have assigned 2 categories, one that is published and one that is unpublished.
I use the unpublished category for calculation rules.
If the unpublished category ID is smaller than the category that is published, then it seems the unpublished category is set as main category for the product.
And in the product link it then also shows the unpublished category.
Like this example:
http://www.traeogbyggevarer.dk/produktdetaljer/rabatter-niveau1/rabatter-niveau2/rabatter-niveau3/rabatter-niveau4/rabatter-niveau5/rabatter-niveau6/rabatter-niveau7/10-procent-rabat/jo-el-4-fordeler-detaljer?adgang=1
The category "10-procent-rabat" is unpublished.
Is there a way to make Virtuemart always choose the published category as main category, so that the unpublished category never shows up in the product link?
Any solution for this? Seems like this affects google results, unpublished categories corrupting google results.
Virtuemart should should not include categories in public views if category is not published.
Any comments, developers?
Please look at the date of the thread November 03, 2012 ! It is fixed since years!
It isn't solved. Our unpublished categories show up on the front end of the site as well.
Not seen that issue for about 3 years. Are you using template overrides/commercial template?
actually, it could happen in some circumstances (breadcrumbs and related categories), please try the new vm3.0.9.4 http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/files should be fixed
