Title: just a multi vendor little clarification
Post by: bobthebob01 on October 17, 2012, 14:08:37 PM
Hi,

i've read many forum post and news on the VM website and i just want to clarify one point about multi vendor feature.

i've read the FAQ thread http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=107588.msg359634#msg359634 saying that for multi vendor (administrated multivendor enabled): "vendors can only edit already existing products". And that is dated September 14, 2012.

But on THURSDAY, 04 OCTOBER 2012 http://virtuemart.net/news/list-all-news/426-end-of-life-for-virtuemart-11-heidelpay-now-in-virtuemart-2012, in the "Fix and New Features" section of the post it says:
multivendor
- Fixed calculation rules for multivendor
- Fixed checkout for multivendor
- Frontend editing

So my question is as follow: Can i assign a user as a vendor so he can manage his own products? and if he can, can he add and remove product?

Thank you very much in advance.

No, all he can do is edit a product that is already set up. "Frontend editing".

Thank you very much Kelvyn for you quick reply.

So it means that product needs to be added by site admin via the back-end and that vendor can only change the prices, images description....

At the moment that is how it works. Further development will be made, but from this level I understand the programming gets a lot more complicated.
