Title: Do I really need to update to 2.0 from 1.1?
Post by: slygoose on September 13, 2012, 21:43:19 PM
Hi,
I've got an e-commerce site and I've been told its time to update for security reasons.  What I'm wondering, is if it ain't broke, why fix it?

I have hundreds of parent products, each with their own children and different attributes.  I'm afraid that this won't transfer over to the new VM... it took us dozens, even hundreds of hours of programming to to it all and it would be a HUGE expense to do that all over again.

Any thoughts?

OKay, I read it, and yea it makes sense security and troubleshooting wise.  But, can you touch base on the specific issues I mentioned re: programming?  We do all the parent, then child products from scratch.  How will it transfer over, if at all?  We had a trial upgrade earlier in the year and it was a MESS.
