Title: Shipping by category & price
Post by: Dunkwelly on September 10, 2012, 18:02:33 PM
Hi

I am looking to introduce different shpping charges for different categories of products, i.e.

Category             Shipping Cost                     Free shipping if order value over
1                                £10                                                 £75
2                                £20                                                 £250
3                                £50                                                 £500
4                                Free                                                 Free

And also if products from different categories are purchased the shipping costs would go to through the categories (i.e. cat 1 & cat 4 products would be free shipping, cat 1 and cat 3 products would be £50 unless over £500)

Does anyone know if this can be done, trying to do it by weight doesn't seem possible.

Thanks

Duncan

Hello,

Did you tried the default shipment method installed?
You have parameters  "Minimum order amount" and "Maximum order amount"

My problem is I have  4 levels of shipping rate

  up to 55  - $7
  up to 110 - $14
  up to 22  - $28
  up to 500 - $55

There seems to be only the minimum and maximum, only 2 fields.

Any suggestions?

Hi.

I'm looking for something very similar to this.  I am currently playing around using weights (we don't use the weights field for anything else and don't display it on the product page).  In the attached image I have shown my calculations - i.e. Category 1 = Shipping 0.99, all products in this category should have a weight of 0.0001, (this will allow up to 90 of this products in the basket without increasing the shipping) but I haven't quite figured if there are any flaws in doing this, and I would like to add another level of complexity (products where Shipping = 19.99, if a customer purchases 2 of these items, then I would like to double the shipping rate.)

If anyone can see any flaws in this method or has any suggestions I would be very grateful.

(I have tried http://virtuemartshipping.com/ - but if there are items from different shipping categories in the bakset it adds both the shipping costs rather than taking the most expensive.)

Thank you for reading.
Claire

Hi all guys,

Today, I just released a very same shipment method called Category Shipping. It allows you to set up shipping cost per category. For more detail, please go to http://joomdonation.com/plugins/category-shipping.html

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you!
Sincerely, Giang
