Am setting up a new site using VM2.0.10 and want to be quite sure about what to back up. It's clear to me that the whole shop infrastructure saved by backing up the Joomla SQL database, but - if I understand correctly - items such as billing addresses are not directly part of the Joomla environment (at least I couldn't find these in the SQL), but this static data is maintained (I can for example see it if I use CSVI 4 to export orders to Excel).
So my main question is: is it enough to back up the website directory that includes the Joomla (and VM) installation - will this save my address details too? (I would of course also back up anything in the Safe Path too)
And my secondary question is: which file contains the address data?
A bit new to this - so excuse me if my question is naive ... :)
Thanks to all readers .... :)
Use Akeeba (https://www.akeebabackup.com/) to back up your site. This backs up all files & database and gives an installable (if necessary) site copy.
:) Many thanks - Akeeba works really well and is free for the core version ...
