I have run into a problem and I dont understand what to do when you click on the shopping cart button to go to the next step it adds a s to the http:// in the url so it want go to the right place can someone help me fix this problem thanks

my site in a subfolder www.dsgcentral.com/dsg

-- that so called "s" indicates you've switched into the SECURE ZONE...

The reason your site fails from that point on is probably because you don't have an SSL certificate protecting your site.

Next question: How do I get one?
Answer: ask your host.

In the mean time, log into your admin area

> VirtueMart Component > Configuration > Shop Tab > Shop Settings Block

Enable SSL for sensitive areas (recommended) = UNCHECKED

This will allow you to go through the cart without any security. Obviously in a live situation you'll need this turned on.

If you want an SSL Certificate... order one from your hosting provider. It's up to them from here on out.
