Title: vmError: Was not able to save the VirtueMart user data
Post by: Private6 on August 12, 2012, 00:38:37 AM
I searched on google and didn't find anything to solve the problem.
I'm new to VM. I tried it a while ago but didn't put much time in it, now I want to try all the aspects with a joomla site from scratch but it's acting weird from the beginning.

My error: vmError: Was not able to save the VirtueMart user data

Strange because at first it gave the same error and I couldn't save my currency. After that I also put in a shop title and again the currency and that it did in fact save but still with the error I said above.

I hope that someone can help me.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Forgot to mention your joomla, vm and PHP version. Also please take a look inside joomla error log and post the entries.

Hi bytelord

Thank you for your reply :)

Joomla 2.5.4
PHP Version 5.3.13
VM 2.0.10

Not too sure where I get data from the error log?

Best regards

Tim

Could be a bad installation or permissions issue.

The log files are located under your_joomla_folder/logs/error.php

Hi there

The error log doesn't seem to be showing anything other than some bad logins (please see below). Do you know which files and locations in particular I should check for permission errors?

Best regards

Tim

Hi,

Do you make an upgrade? if yes, please go to tools->toos and migration -> install tables and if necessary update them.

Also try to reinstall vm using the tar.gz files from http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/files

I have this error too.
My solution is input the Date of Birth field which is mandatory but by default it was -none-
set a value for that and then I can save with no error
