ogie1023,

there are 100s of posts on shipping rates - If you have a question like this please search the forum first. Always include your VM version 2.0.8 c, d, e ? and joomla version as well.

* Shipping rates are all done by country and state - and by zip code in the standard VM versions.

Configuration is done through checking your countries first in Configuration>>countries, Then currencies.
Then configuration>>shipment methods>> where you have to set these up>> pick standard first>> leave it open Fill nothing in except postal name and then save and then configuartion of shipment and make the cost 10 Euros as a test.

save and then test a product-  later change the settings as you require.

We cannot help further as we do not know what types of configuartion or what country you are asking about.

Hi John2400,

Yes its true that a lot of post concerning shipping issues but i can't find straight forward answer. My VM version is 2.0.8c / Joomla 2.5.

I wanted to ask for this shipping issue because after setting up the standard shipping rate i am not comfortable with the result because i thought that the shipping would be calculated automatically and it wouldn't be left up to the customer to choose the method. For me, it should be automatically traced back based on their address (country).

I wanted to know if it can be achieved? Please show how to do it?

Thank you!

Ok first you should be using 2.0.8 e and 2.5.6 -

all shipping can be done at a country rate

Here is an example - set the country and then set the zip code rate  For this country you might have about 50 settings- zipcodes and then price per weight.

And yes get these right and then turn on automatic postage and presto - what country ?
