How do you turn off images? This is making me CRAZY. i HAVE unchecked File Published for my categories and my products but it stays checked after saving. Did a search but didn't really find anything useful. I have products which do not need images and products which do.
I am sure that someone can point me in the right direction.

So I am guessing that it is impossible to turn off product images?
You can use template overrides for this, as for individual products and categories you can set overrides as required. So remove the image code from productdetails & categories templates and use as necessary.

I started with that soon after my OP. Seems like kind of a pain to jump through override hoops when un-checking a check box should work.
Am I to presume that this is a bug? Does the check box just not work? Maybe I'll make a bug report.
2.0.8e should be out in a day or so.
I use overrides for this because I got used to doing it that way before and there are other layout changes I make for those products without images - I have never tried the switch.
