Title: Oh LORD this isn't a fun job

Hi there,


I am having a problem upgrading from VM 1 to VM 2.

I have used SPupgrade to create a new Joomla site at /j25/ on my sites root from 1.5. All good.

Tried migrating the data from the old site to the new by moving over the product, manufacturer, etc.. files to the correct locations.


It then imported the users fine, but no products, orders, manufacturers ??? Why is this ??? :-(


Have tried searching for bladdy ages on the internet and these forms to no avail. And to make matters worse I'm keeping the client waiting (!)

Oh, and it keeps asking for me to make the safe directory when I have already created it?

did you USE the VIRTUEMART migrator?

try changing all your file permissions on the hosted server to 777

Never use 777 unless on a badly setup server. It is leaving an open door to any hacker.

try using jupgrade
worked like a bomb for me, and dont worry.. u wont get hacked in the few minutes it takes to move all products categories etc  ;)
i moved about 356 products ... all intact
