I have installed the update with Filezilla FTP but the version remains at 2.0.2
I am trying to update (as suggested) to solve my other problems
Any help out there?
I had similar issue. Another way to upgrade the package is to go to to Joomla installation section (Extension Manager, if you are using J2.5). Once installed, the system states that the upgrade was successful. However I did this and things got a little weird, prices were missing, etc. First of all make a back up copy of your files and database and try it on that test server first. If all is well, then just use that. I had to re-install an updated template that consisted of VM2.0.6 and J2.5.4 and re-configured/added all my products again, in other words I started from scratch. Luckily I only had a few products and I just starting configuring both Virtuemart and Joomla. I think a bug lies within the upgrade process from 2.0.2 to 2.0.6, but not sure really. It could also be a local issue with Joomla and web hosting parameters.

You can also do the upgrade manually using the tools, upload it per ftp and use the update tables procedure http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/wiki/Tools
