Title: UPS Plug-In Update
Post by: malibu2792 on April 24, 2012, 14:43:00 PM
I use the UPS plugin for my site from the main Virtuemart extension directory. I recieved an email yesterday that there is an update out. When trying to install the new version i get the following error message.
Plugin Install: Another plugin is already using directory: /home/vipstanc/public_html/plugins/vmshipment/istraxx_ups
Error installing plugin

Do I need to delete the other plugin or what?

Joomla! 2.5.4
Vmart 2.0.6

Hi,

Yes i have to find out why when reinstalling a plugin, it does not automatically update.
In your case, can you remove the old one, and intall the new version?

I have the plugin reinstalled but there are not any shipping options available. (ground, air,.... nothing)

How do i put them back in place?? I had to manually extract the plugin and place the files in the correct place.

I am working on a fresh install of VM 2 and Joomla 2.5.
I'm sorry to bust in on this thread but maybe my question will help you and others as you move forward.

I used a POS system that really used the UPS API fully.  Do you know if the UPS plugin accounts for extended area surcharges, dimensional weight, etc. ?  The old UPS functionality did integrate the UPS tariff at all even though the API had it available.

;D ;D Thanks for making VM so much better! The VM team did a really nice job with VM 2.  The navigation is better in general although I am still feeling my way around.  I love the functionality improvements and I really support paying for it.

Best,
Steve
