OIn Configuration/templates it only alows me to choose the "default" frontpage template, even if I have more on the Virtuemart directory, as I had in previous version.
Did you change the directory of the frontpage template?

If you had the other template that may not support in VM 2.x.

That old templates may be for VM 1.x

The templates I had where for V 2.0.4
Anyway, I found them, it's only a bit different and it took me a while to figure out where to put my templates.

com_virtuemart > views > virtuemart > default_products.php

Be sure to make your override in your joomla template.

such as:

templates > your_template_name > html > com_virtuemart > virtuemart > default_products.php
