Title: Category wont show its child categories unless there is a product in it
Post by: ws101a on April 20, 2012, 13:07:17 PM
I have a very basic but frustratingly hard to solve Virtuemart 2 issue.

The problem is that a category won't show the child categories inside it, unless there is a product there. ie. a product in the parent category.

So if you have the following category structure:

--Animals
----Dogs
----Cats
----Snakes

So Dogs, cats and snakes wont show, unless there is a product in "Animals."

This is frustrating as my store demands it.

Ive searched a lot but keep getting redirected to this post: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=88020.0
This is not a solution as it only pertains to Virtuemart 1. I am using Virtuemart 2.
The file mentioned in the post "administrator/components/com_virtuemart/html/shop.browse.php" doesn't even exist in Virtuemart 2!

Can anyone help?

Nevermind - I fixed it. Was using a custom virtuemart template from virtuemarttemplates.net
Updating the template to the newer version fixed it  8)

I too have that problem, regardless of which template I'm using. Any ideas?
