Hi.
I migrate to new version and my site down.
This error appear --> Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class convertECB in ../public_html/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/currency/convertECB.php on line 24
my site is www.insumosacuarios.com.ar
Any help?
Here are the instructions for migrating
http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=95236.0
WHAT the problem is , you have an old file conflicting with the new files.
You were supposed to rename the folders before upgrading.
administrator/components/com_virtuemart
components/com_virtuemart
AND; UNINSTALL all vmart 1.1 modules and plugins.
SO,
I would make a backup. 1ST
THEN, FTP over to the site, and rename the com_virtuemart folders.
Then install the 2.0 again.
BEFORE YOU DO THE MIGRATOR, MAKE SURE TO HAVE YOUR IMAGES IN THE RIGHT FOLDERS.
Ok, my mistake was thinking it was an upgrade but rather a new system.
So, i rename the old folders and re install the new version.
What do you mean that I noticed that the pictures are in the appropriate folders?
Did you look at the instruction for migrating? It says it right there.
The images have to be in the right folder BEFORE you click the migrate button.
i do a migraton.. but now appear this error

Truja,
what steps have you taken to migrate?
Tell me exact what you have done since before starting this thread.
ok, but apparently it works ok. The only thing the images could not connect yet.
first uninstall all the components modules and plugins. then re name the old folders.
later re install de VM2. and use de migrator tools. is all.

u keep clicking migrate, make sure images are published in
shop media,
also, go into a product, and see if the image is there.
You might just have the re-create the thumbnails with the dynamic thumbnails
i come back.
the images do not appear. As I can do? I not well understood before migrating over to the folders where the images are.

1.1 Images are in components/com_virtuemart/show_image/HERE

BEFORE migrating you were supposed to move the images from the old folder, into the new folders
Did you not do this?

I do it manually now?
VM1
components/com_virtuemart/show_image/HERE OK!
images/stories/virtuemart/HERE OK!

Yes, root/images/stories/virtuemart
YOU should have done it BEFORE clicking migrate.
You can try it, but you might have to start over.
ok, if I do the migration again .. folders with moving images .. should work no?

This is an error.
You have mysql 5.0 and you use 2.0.2. please use 2.0.4. Furthermore you should start from "scratch".
That is less work, then you may think, use the tools. http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/wiki/Tools Use there "Reset all tables and do a fresh install". Then do the migration, step by step.
Installed version 2.0.3
Latest version 2.0.4
But i install 2.0.4 but dont appear this. and dont show error when i do upgrade.

Actually just to point out that your blunt and very arrogant reply BanquetTables, was wrong. Yes the process you said maybe correct, but the official upgrade instructions says
http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/wiki/Upgrading_VM1_to_VM2_with_provided_packages
Quote1. First uninstall all old vm extensions.
2. Just install VM2 as upgrade over VM1 (just use the joomla install view)
4. Make your life easy and use the sampeldata.
3. Copy your vm1 images into the desired folders (you can also adjust the paths in the config to your old vm folders)
4. Go to Migration and Tools in the backend.
5. Use on the second tab the option all and fire the button.
So actually from what I understand Truja upgraded according to the instructions.
I have found no official instructions to say you were "supposed" to rename anything or transfer the media, as you could keep it where it is. If the official instructions are wrong/outdated, and we are supposed to see a forum post, then just post that, this doesn't make Truja wrong.
We are all volunteers working late into the night for free much of the time, but the main problem with the Joomla/VM community, is the constant insults and patronising replies on forums. I have lost many clients who refuse to use Joomla now due to the way they have been spoken to on forums when asking for advice and help and have since moved to Magento and other CMS systems. So what is the point in us developers spending so much time making incredible systems, to be destroyed by others in the way they answer simple support queries.
Its nice to be nice ;)
