Title: Assigning VM to a menu error when viewing 'store'
Post by: wembley2000 on April 09, 2012, 17:07:59 PM
Hi there
How do I assign VM to a menu, I get the following message all the time.  I have assigned 'VM Front Page' to the 'shop' menu item.  I want the store to be within a menu, not as my site front page.
Although the 'shop' is currently set to 'special' permissions, I did change this to 'public' and this didn't solve the problem.

QuoteInfo: COM_VIRTUEMART_ASSIGN_VM_TO_MENU
What does this mean, especially as I have assigned the VM Front Page to a Top Menu item?
I am using Joomla v2.5.4 and VM v2
Kind regards

Hi!
I've had the same problem and successfully solved it today! That's right; you have to assign VM (items) to Joomla!'s menu. To do this;
1.   Create a new menu item: Administrator-> Menu Manager->New Menu Item;
2.   In the pop-up window Select a Menu item Type, select VirtueMart->the needed VM item.
And the message "Info: COM_VIRTUEMART_ASSIGN_VM_TO_MENU" won't show up any more.

Hi Kate

Thanks for the update; yes you are right, assigning VM to Joomla's Main Menu, as opposed to Top only, worked a treat.

Kind regards
