Hello can you tell how can i display category page accorting to recently added product , i mean want that products in category page must get sorted according to recently added

I tried but its sorting in increasing order by default i want that it must sort in descending order by default then only recent product will come

* update on my comment : I could sort by product creation date both up and down -
but it does not hold the sort when you come back to the category - again my solution beloe might , might be ok
I a had a client once who renumbered the sku in VM1 and found that the display change for them - bit strange but it allowed them to put first first.
like 0001, 0002 etc and it allowed them to do just what you ask - have a try with about 4 or 5 to see if it works.
