Title: Paypal Payments Advanced
Post by: peekaweb on April 05, 2012, 04:41:42 AM
Hello Virtuemart community, my name is Antonio and this is my very first post. I came to this forum to get info about virtue mart 2.0 since I am having some trouble with some of its functions.

Today i received an email from paypal, which most of you got as well, and it is about Paypal Payments Advanced. Google checkout (wallet) has given them some pressure i d assume and therefore they released this product, which is cheaper than pro. Its 5$/month plus a commission fee. here is the link

I wanted to know if this will work with virtuemart 2.0 and if some of you already tried it. Thank you.

I am interested in this as well. I have not tried it yet, and won't recommend it to my clients unless Virtuemart can work with "paypal payments advanced". Unfortunately, I could not find any documentation on the Paypal site or Paypal Developer site to implement this myself...

Accept credit cards and
PayPal directly on your website

With our new solution, you can keep your customers on your site for the entire checkout process without taking on all of the burden of protecting their financial data. In addition to a merchant account and gateway in one, PayPal provides you with a secure checkout template to integrate within your website so your customers won't know that we're processing their payment behind the scenes. Plus, it's pre-integrated to work with the most popular shopping carts, including Cashie, Magento, OS Commerce.

OS Commerce is listed and Virtuemart is not?  That's interesting!

  ;D
Man I was so relieved to read your post IPN
I went straight through to your link and logged in.
Only to be sooooo disappointed  >:(
I was told the service wasnt offered to that account and I had to log back in with an US Account.
Im in Australia with an Aussie Paypal Account.
Anyway around it? I sooo want to use Paypal but having to use paypal website standard is sooooo naff. Brings my whole website down.
Any suggestions?

Hi TooBe,

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution...PayPal already approved some shopping carts but I'm very alarmed as to why nothing is done by VM.  A pathetic cart such as OScommerce was able to have integration with PayPal Advanced, but VM has yet to offer such a product?

I'm waiting on VM to come out with this.

The bottom line is that US account or not, it doesn't support VM, right? Well, maybe in the future. I have a US account so I'm ready. Let's see what happens
