VirtueMart 1.1.3 is a recommended security update, which provides fixes for some security issues, other enhancements and fixes a lot of minor bugs (see the changelog (https://dev.virtuemart.net/cb/wiki/2878) for full details).
Full installation packages and patch packages are available on the download page (http://virtuemart.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=54&Itemid=147).
To update to version 1.1.3, login to your VirtueMart administration area and choose "Check for Updates" from the "Admin" menu, then click the "Check now!" button and follow the instructions there. (Or, you can download the 1.1.3 patch package directly (http://virtuemart.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=54&Itemid=147) , save it to your local hard drive, and choose to "Upload a Patch Package" from the "Upload a Patch" tab.)
If you are using VirtueMart 1.1.0, you must first update to VirtueMart 1.1.1 before updating to VirtueMart 1.1.3.
Hi,
In the update package for Joomla 1.0.x are missing these files:
version.php
virtuemart.xml
I update recently my VirtueMart from 1.0.15 to 1.1.2 in Joomla 1.0.15 and in these update the files are missing too.
Result: My VM 1.1.2 is updated, works nice, but inform version 1.0.15, so I cant use the autoupdate function of VM.
Any suggestion?
Thanks
This has been fixed, thank you for reporting.
Im having problems updating on my local host, is this normal?
I get 2 errors (minus callstack) -
Warning: zip_read() expects parameter 1 to be resource, integer given in H:\work\XAMPP\htdocs\libraries\joomla\filesystem\archive\zip.php on line 234
Warning: zip_close() expects parameter 1 to be resource, integer given in H:\work\XAMPP\htdocs\libraries\joomla\filesystem\archive\zip.php on line 250
I would try updating manually but I cant seem to find the "Upload a Patch" tab.
Im using Joomla 1.5.9 and VM 1.1.2
Hi, I'm new to the forum and was wondering if the patch update will overwrite the entire file or just specific lines of code. We have modified some code to fit our needs.
Also what is the difference between:
Patch-VirtueMart-1.1.2-1.1.3
and
Patch-VirtueMart-1.1.2-1.1.3.j15
The Virtuemart installation we are running is: VirtueMart 1.1.2 stable on Joomla 1.5.0
Have a great weekend.
The patch overwrites the entire file, not specific lines of code.
Difference between:
Patch-VirtueMart-1.1.2-1.1.3 is for Joomla 1.0.x
and
Patch-VirtueMart-1.1.2-1.1.3.j15 is for Joomla 1.5.x

No news on this? Anyone else have this problem?
It must be a server misconfiguration, I use WAMP Server (http://www.wampserver.com/en/) works for me.
Google your error message you will see many reported issues in various Internet applications, basically server can't unzip the file.
You can try the Manual Installation Package.
Thanks for the reply, I cant find the "Upload a Patch" tab, so the manual update doesnt work for me either.
I guess Ill download the full package, uninstall 1.1.2 and install the new one.
If you want PM me access info and I will have a look
Well, its still only on my local host, thanks for the offer though, I really do appreciate it. Its all still very much in development so its not a major issue for me.
You know what, I just found it :)
I didnt notice it the first time I tried to update, I just clicked on "check now" and followed the instructions. After it failed, every time I tried to update it went straight to the error message page. After a server reset I get the proper Update Check page and low and behold, theres the "Upload a patch" tab.
Problem solved, many thanks :)
Hi
I patched from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 by uploading the zip file into the updated.
Joomla still reports the modules as being 1.1.0, but the full 1.1.3 file contains updated modules.
Am I correct that the update process does not update the modules as well?
If so, this should be clearly noted on the update instructions page.
Regards
Brendon
Hi all,
Quick question that I can't seem to find an answer to.
does the update patch vm1.1.3 include the update to joomla 1.5.9, and
if not, which package should I use to update my joomla 1.5.8 + vm 1.1.2 with to get both updated? My current VM Ecommerce bundle included vm 1.1.2 and Joomla 1.5.8
Thanks
You should get Joomla update from Joomla site and VirtueMart from VirtueMart site.
There was a problem with create a Shipper in the new version of the ps_shipping.php file.
The problem has been fixed and the new file is on the SVN or you can download it from here .

Thanks for the info Aravot. I was searching around hoping to find what was changed specifically, to fix the specific security issues, with no luck.
I suppose it could probably be a large change, across too many files, to attempt to fix manually. or not?
Hi
I have VM 1.0.15 running at the moment. To upgrade, do I just dump the entire contents of the 1.13 file structure over the existing files via FTP?
I am still on Joomla 1.0x at the moment and will not go to 1.5.9 on this site yet.
hi everyone, i have installed the version 1.1.3 version and the catogory images do not seem to be displaying the products images. I am using version 1.5.9 joomla.
Also the images are not using lightbox though the configeration is set to use the lightbox.
http://likewisedesign.com/hgl/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=3
Note if you scroll down to the bottome section of the page you can see that the pictures do not dsplay.
I tried the auto update but it shows i have the current version
I have not added any additional components, this is a test to see how it works.
I have checked the url path and thats ok
Any ideas on what i may need to amend or do?
i have also tried a previous version of virtuemart 1.1.2 and have the same problem.
Thanks
Paul
Thanks
Paul.
@SImon Anthony, to answer your question yes, you need to use manual update package for Joomla 1.0 version, BACKUP, BACKUP first try it on a test site, if everything goes well than try on actual site.
@pirouk, search the forum, it has been answered many many many times, it is permission issue.
There is a problem with VM 1.1.3 which means that you cannot edit your products using Internet Explorer - you get the Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site message. Please could you add a warning to the top of this thread, so that people don't upgrade if they plan to use IE, as they will only have to roll back to 1.1.2? Thanks.
I have read elsewhere that this problem may be caused by the placement of a javascript declaration. Perhaps this may help you to resolve it. (I hope so!)

Can you give some more information about your setup?
Im using Win XP, IE7 and Joomla 1.5.9 and have not had this problem at all.
Is this a Vista thing?
I'm using Joomla 1.5.8, Win XP, IE7.
Maybe try upgrading to Joomla 1.5.9?
I'm having a similar problem with Joomla 1.5.9 & VM 1.1.3 both in Dutch. With IE 7 (XP SP2) I can't update products. With Firefox no problem, via standard login but also when copy/paste the generated url.
CRITICAL ERROR with 1.1.3 patch. URGENT!
Joomla 1.5.9
VM 1.1.3
Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Explorer 7 are unable to view product details.
Users that click on the product details get the following message:
"Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site
[url]
Operation aborted"
Please fix this immediately as more than 50% of our potential customers use IE.
Alternatively, please let me know how to roll back to 1.1.2 until this problem is fixed.
URGENT!
Cheers,
Victor
I have same problem with internet explorer 7
with mozilla firefox work OK.
????
Please try provided patch http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=51089.0
The problem is in the frontend as well, and the patch doesn't work for that (or in the backend for that matter).
Everything was smooth with 1.1.2, then I upgraded from the backend and bam, annoying IE crap.
It's gotta be something other than just those two files.
Greetings, please be so kind and go a bit into detail what these security leaks are and how important it is to apply a fix.
To the main issue, I am surely not the only one with this:
Using VM 1.1.2 with a lot of core enhancements, so logically no way to apply a patch or to upgrade like when still using an unchanged core version.
Please clarify what the security leak is, and how to fix it manually.
Many thanks!
Are you kitting?
To release in public the Security holes???
Come on dont be crazy? What about the other sites wich they dont have done the upgrade yet?!
When we ask something let us be reasonable!
Than send it via PM. It is same irresponsible not to provide a confidential support system where users, a lot of users like me, who work on cores of VM can get such critical fixes without getting called crazy or so. ;)
Thanks!
And what is the reason, where you know that a lot of users modify the cores that you do not just simply release a security fix or security patch that only closes the leak? Plus that, can't anyone register for the SVN Version and somehow figure out what leak was fixed??? When you do not want to release a security fix only because people could also figure out the leak this way, than encode it via IonCube, for the users that otherwise have a system running with an unfixed security leak. ;)
Otherwise, I do not know what your point is, I read a lot of news and posts about xt:commerce having had a major security issue on the credit card processing side and everyone knows about it, it was disclosed in detail, what exactly caused the issue, what files were causing it and what codes and so on.
Thanks.
Can any one tell me when the 1.5.9 with 1.1.3 budle will release?
thanks
And you know, there are many users or same % of users that modify the cores, if it is on their own or via uncountable freelancers...e.g. via VM-Expert.com etc..
So, you await from those to spend days to weeks or dollars by dollars to simply get all the changes into some more or less stable 1.1.3 version on a local system, to than upgrade it back on the server or something? Except the security fix, most of the fixes are localization related or fixes that we already fixed some time ago on our own...
Thanks again!
I can not add in VirtueMart_1.1.3-COMPLETE_PACKAGE.j15 package Language_Pack_for_VirtueMart_1.1.3, help to make as it?
We are planning to update our VM 1.0.15 and have seen a few bugs (IE7) with the current version. Is there any roadmap when the 1.1.4 will be available?
Seek and ye shall find...
Good work, thanks!
I still get the same stupid Shipping error, It still only saves the first letter and does not add it to my shipping section!! GAAA! guys, this is awful!!!!

Any chance you could tell me WHERE that goes?
After the above post you mention at the bottom I have a attached file.
Take it.
I figured that much out....I also figured out that it needs to go in
/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes

..so why do you enter this forum and need to upgrade your cart once you can do it on your own ? I see no reason to talk like that to the developers when it is all free. You paid nothing to have VM. And you say "Thank you" at the end of each post here without thanking for something in your posts. So "put your tongue in" Mr expert.
I would like to ask something, I downloaded the updated ps_shipping.php and installed on server, now the issue with the only first letter of the shipper is corrected. But changing the order of them gives no result. Do they change on some other list of the cart ? or should they change in that list ?
cheers, and congrats for the great work
I have a similar problem that has foxed me for several hours. I had ealer d=unchecked the other shipping options, then uncheked them all and rechecked. But end up with nothing coming up at step 2 of the checkout, just "Please select a shipping method! " but nothing showingI downloaded this to the home/shipping directory, then reset the configuration/shipping/standard shipping option and rechecked the #2 in the config/checkout list but nothing is showing. I have three shipping rates set up, so they should all show.
When I click first time i can add to cart, but when i clicked on add to cart second pop up doesn't work.please help...
Is there a solution available for the wrong calculated coupons and payment discount?
Draculinos, i tried to copy the file given in your reply to my :administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/ps_shipping.php, but still no change. I did a copy/paste from your .zip file to the path given with no cahnge. The thing i find awkward is that i have to website under the same hosting website, and that the one in english works fine, but the one in french doesnt work at all...the french website still shows only the first letter of the shipper while the english website shows the full name of the shipper. Please help. If you need more information please feel free to reply.
Thank you in advance for your time and help.
Ludovic
You are right. If some other project has everything that Glest has, and more, and it is stable, Glest would become outdated. However I doubt this will happen any time soon, if ever.
