Hide the number of products in the Virtuemart Category module

Hi all,

Does someone know if i can hide the number of products which is shown next to each category, in the Virtuemart Category module?

I tried to modify the default.php file found in modules/mod_virtuemart_category/tmpl/ folder but with no success.

I can use the current.php file in the layout section of the module in the backend to hide the number of products, but then the accordion effect is not working.

So, is there a way to just hide the number of products, without losing that nice accordion effect that default.php has?
