One Product Media Path per shop

I want to have a different media path for each product category.  It doesn't seem possible because there is a default set for the entire shop in Configuration > Templates > Media Files Settings.  Am I correct?

You could put your prodcts on a separate website or folder.

Upload them into different folders and use the URL link as your product link.

I'm sute too that links media could live in joomla separate folders just set them up and change the links manually as you g

Upload you photos by FTP into two folders - "test it" then try and fild the images as you add a product by typing the folder and image link.

Just check that if you set product to display on cart that it actually works there.

I can understand that setting products by category is not really practical as the power of VM is in having multiple categories per product. But if I change the path when I add a product why does it revert to the original path? Is there a way around that?

It would be nice to ´easily´ get away from image folders with tens of thousands of images.

If I upload images first to another folder and include a resize folder in that will it create thumbnails there or default back to the original folder?

I do love that it is easy to re-use images as they are not being renamed on upload. A massive improvement well done.
