Navigation and returning to a previously viewed category

This is not a bug but I was wondering if it was modifiable  - say you got 50 products and your customer strolls through them to say half way then they navigate to another category then go back to the original category - they are taken to the spot they left.

I want the customer to always start at the beginning of a category not matter if they have been there before.
