Hi,

Feature request.
Assign a user that can login from frontend and upload products either in single item or in upload csv file for multiple product upload.

Pls let me know someone can do it and quote me the job price.

Thx.

create single products by data entry   no problem,    the upload is tough, as the file would need to be formated for the upload, if it is not correctly formated, it would crash. it would be best for security reasons for the uplaod to be attempted from the admin, why cant this be assigned to a manager

Hi geekhead,

For previous virtuemart v1.1.19 and before, there are feature of admin can access virtuemart control panel with configuration or add products or delete products or modify stock level, price and etc.

The reason to have this do in front end is because I need assign a shop maintainer to do it and without access to koomla backend so that they won't do any modification on other components or structure.

For virtuemart 2.0 it is not able to do this anymore or I missing something?

Beside, there are some csv upload components which can do at joomla backend access but it is same reason I need shop maintainer to work on frontend and not backend because i do not want them to modify anything internal structure. Or else can any setting can let the user login backend and just see virtuemart control panel and the csv upload program?

Thanks
Kelvin

I understand your concern,    and it should be able to be modified to give front end access (although it may be a security issue)

my real concern was the import of csv's for products. That is not something a non-programmer can generally do.

the other issues is csvi has not been updated to 2.0, so your csv's would need to be imported directly into the db.

CSVI 4.0 (now at beta5) is already working with VM2

Admin by store keeper has been done using Joomla ACL - eg http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=95093.msg314702#msg314702

thats great news          i did not see it on the csvi website,    but my opinion holds,   needs a programmer as you can blow up your site if you mess up your import
