Being completely new to this it may be a dumb questions but can I use Virtuemart to display, categorise and show all my products but without the feature to add to basket and buy?
Our products are so customised that buying online is just not possible but I need to be able to showcase the 'shop' of what is available.

Yes. There is possibility to use it as catalog. Never tried it but at least that what they say...
