No "downloadable goods" on VM2?

Hi. I tried VM 2 on my site, but i can't figure out how to implement downloadable goods.. This function has been removed?
My site entirely use this kind of goods!... Did it will be implemented?

Unfortunately, there is no feature (for free) of downloadable products in VM 2!!!

Only if you pay for an extension like this:

I have some questions for you:
I just want to be able to sell software via VM2. I want my customers to be able to pay for a software and then download it, and then to get a short of activation code (by an e-mail, perhaps). Is that possible through that extension?
Or maybe should I wait for the VM 2.1 or something else?
Please, give me a specific answer to that! It's very important!
