All of virtuemart files are UTF-8

in current versions?  From what I'm finding by googling ISO-8859-1 virtuemart, VM language files are ISO-8859-1, at least in older posts, so perhaps my older version is not in UTF-8.

I will certainly talk to our IT guy about upgrading as well.

I would like to confirm, I just opened one of the other VM php files (ps_cart which I have not touched in any way) in Firefox, selected View->Character Encoding and it verfied that the file was in Western ISO-8859-1.  Whether this is because it is an older version of VM or because the original builder of the site changed it for some reason, I don't know, but...
